It all started in July 1993, at a family reunion in Toronto, Canada. We decided to work for each other and to build a company of quality and honor. Then, we started running a Florida-based technology solutions provider since February 1st, 1994.
ZipData
PC Depot Inc. incorporated February 1st, 1994, in Miami, Florida. Gus, Harry, and Carlos got together and delivered the first computer for Mr. Joe Baile, in Coral Springs, Florida.
PC-Deport became into ZipData.net. The same company, but with a new name, vision, and more integrated services. ZipData.net is an information technology services in Miami and South Florida with local onsite and remote tech support services. Strategy, Security, Network, Managed Services, Web Design, Private Cloud Hosting, and Managed Backups.

Bluejeanware Software was incorporated in 2005 as a local, minority-owned spin-off of ZipData.net. Where ZipData.net’s focus is on hardware support, Bluejean’s is on systems development. We have a long history of quality support and relationships with not-for-profits like the Early Learning Coalition, Health Foundation of South Florida, Healthy Start Coalition, United Way, The Children’s Trust, Knight Foundation, and Epilepsy Alliance Florida.
John Fiedler
John Fiedler started with computers in 1965 – almost before computers were a thing. After graduating from Georgia Tech, John’s career spanned nine years as a programmer with Lockheed, NASA, and M.I.T’s Research and Engineering think tank, followed by thirty years in management at The Miami Herald. In 2005, John joined Carlos Valdes to create Bluejean Software, a software development group specifically targeted to development within the non-profit communities, and ultimately creating WELS.
WELS Systems Foundation
WELS was spun off from our sister company, Bluejean Software. WELS was created in 2009 to develop and focus on a modern, marketable QRIS system based on what we’d learned in Miami, adding key concepts from Muriel Wong’s Program Quality Profile system (an Access-based commercial system developed in 1998). WELS has continued to develop early-education systems through the years.
WELS provides tools to support excellence in child development and early learning. We care foremost about children, families, and education.
Muriel Wong
Muriel Wong is a well-respected and widely-known figure in early education. Muriel Wong is the author of Web-Based Early Learning System (WELS). She brings a wealth of early care and education from over 30 years of knowledge and experiences as a preschool teacher, director, trainer and consultant which has served as the cornerstone of the WELS architecture. Her understanding of early care and education and systems development of quality improvement and resources for early learning and school age programs has been the driving force and vision for the continuous development of WELS.
